Murderbot and more
Weekend Warm-Up 12/19/25
My recommendations for this week.
Streaming shows-
I highly recommend Murderbot on Apple TV. Now that I’ve finished the first season, I’m eager to see where the second season goes. Friends have told me that the books are excellent.
Like most of the country, I’m watching Stranger Things. I’ve caught up on last seasons so I’m all caught up. So far this season (final season?) is underwhelming. Four episodes currently out but more to come this month.
The Secrets We Bury on Max. Intriguing and sad. But still worth the watch.
Also on Max, Rocky Mountain Mortician Murder. What a mess. Clueless people who are easily fooled and manipulated who jump at every clue. Playing Whack-a-mole when trying to solve a local murder. A car wreck still worth watching.
Movie-
I highly recommend Sinners. Not the movie you anticipate it will be. It elevates the genre.
Podcast-
Just finished another one by Texas Monthly called Stephenville. True crime. Frustrating but it shows how some small rural Texas communities have handled violent crimes. Some still do.
If you like it, you’ll also like the first season of the podcast, Tom Brown’s Body. It’s even stranger and more fascinating. A newer case too.
And today’s laugh. I couldn’t resist. 😅
Have a great weekend!
